Forklift Water Pump - Connected to the crankshaft of the engine; the water pump is a simple centrifugal pump which is driven by a belt. Fluid is circulated by the pump when the engine is running.
The water pump makes use of centrifugal force so as to send water to the outside as it rotates. This action causes fluid to be continuously drawn from the center of the pump. The pump inlet is located near the center. This particular design enables fluid returning from the radiator to hit the pump vanes. The pump vanes are strategically located so as to fling the fluid outside of the pump so it goes in the engine.
The fluid initially flows throughout the engine block and cylinder head previous to going out of the pump. The fluid then works its way into the radiator before lastly coming back to the pump.
